Adjustable cam gears HELP!...
I need to know how adjustable comes look when their TDC. Because i think my timing belt might have skipped some teeth. It has adjustable cams but when the crank is TDC the cam gear markings are facing all over the place not in the middle?? Anyone have a picture how their supossed to look. I never had a car with adjustable cams before. My brother was about to do a valve adjustment on the car and he left the wrench and socket on the crank pulley and my remote start kicked on in my pocket and i think the wrench kept the crank pulley from moving and result skippin teeth on the belt..... Any pictures would be greatly apreciated. Thanks guys.
Im not sure if all cam gears look the same, but my AEMs still match in the middle, and the lower marks are moved to the side kinda. I think they all have to have some TDC. You can try checking your 1st cylinder valve if its all the way up at TDC. Just dont push too hard if you feel its not moving.
So i just came back from a store where they sell all the cool stuff. All adjustable cam gears are marked to line up at TDC. Only the bottom line is moved on some of them just like my AEMs.
Hope it didnt bend any valves, man. Good luck!
