i have a 99 gsr with a 97 spec type r swap and im having some issues with it. when im driving, randomly the tach and the speedo will start jumping around. lets say im driving at 3000 rpm, all of a sudden the tach will go to 7000 then back, the speedo will do the same thing. simultaneously the engine will start missing then start to die. if im driving on the freeway the inertia of the car will keep the motor going but if im at a stop light the car will die and i will have to turn the car on again. sometimes the car runs with out a problem but sometimes it gets pretty bad.

i hate electrical...

don't know what to do...

oh and i replaced my igniter as well

 

Sounds like the igniter is about to crap out,I have experienced the same problems on my 95 LS,91 CRX,and 91 EF hatch.Easy fix,its located inside the distributor,Autozone,O'reilys,Advance etc sells.But the speedo kinda throws me off,its controlled by the VSS which goes through the ECU.You didnt specify which ECU your using,and they rarely give problems,but Id say borrow a known good one and see what happens.

 

i replaced my igniter. im using the 97 spec ecu p73. i guess i could try using a different ecu but i dont think that that is the problem
