failing fuel pump will do that. if it does it warm the o2 can have an impact but it should idle fine warm. the iac valve and coolant level are another place to go. i've seen that twice now and both cases were failing fuel pumps. if that car has over 200k miles...which it probably does based on what you paid it very well could be the problem. long story short pressure fluctuations are what's causing it. still, test, don't take this as gospel. if it goes like the rest before long the car just won't start.

a lot of the more knowledgeable members have moved on and just hangout in gdd. many people see these old cars as get-me-by-mobiles or just something to drive till they get what they want. the only reason i'm still left is from building a frame up back in 2008. i also use to work in a shop and more exp than many. the obd1-obd2 honda is a fairly reliable car as long as people don't mod them without knowing the overall impact of what's being done. that and **** parts are the two most common reasons these cars die. also. unless mileage is doc'd on carfax or a reliable source cluster swapping is beyond common. fuel pumps rarely die at 125k, motors also don't get swapped often at 125k. both generally fail above 200k with the gsr engine going on average 175-225k before burning an exhaust valve. 300k is possible though, just rare. i honestly would be surprised if you picked up a 125k 2000gsr for 2k, like a true one. the theft title is also common but not generally difficult to sell if the car is in good shape. every now and again you find a title **** but most just want a decent car. young kids also hate salvage titles because they can't borrow money for them.

Looks like an awesome find. I paid $2000 for my 98 gsr and it supposedly had a hydrolocked motor. It ended up needing an ecu. Thats another story though. More pics. hint hint.
