Default Final Drive q's

Few questions here, I just scooped up a b16 tranny for a mere $150 bucks from a friend. Once opened up we noticed the final drive were teeth stripped to ****. We then decided to look for a used final but couldn't really come up with much. Mostly Mfab finals and brand new ones for dough!

The problem I'm having is knowing what options I have as far as OEM final drives that will work in my hydro b16 for a affordable price. I.e. GSR, B16 and basically what's the easiest cheapest way for me to make this a working tranny. Also he reccomended I Atleast replace the brass washers for the syncros, if I wouldn't actually replace the synchros themselves.

Tranny gurus, shoot me ideas and setups that will work with a b16 hydro trans.

B16A or LS FD are your only OEM options without changing the diff. If its been beat on enough to break the FD then you need to inspect the rest of it, I'm guessing the hubs and sliders need to be replaced for 1/2 and 3/4. Regardless you need to tear it down completely and clean everything thoroughly.

Depends. If the trans is in great shape yes. Almost every B trans I get in needs to have the sleeve assemblies replaced. I get a few good ones in every now and then. A year or so ago while talking to David from Synchrotech (I think it was at SEMA last year) he said the same thing. This will get worse with time.
