Default Fuel Pump Swap?

I have a 90 civic hb std that i just bought a new Walbro 255 fuel pump. I went to swap it out today and took the cover under the back seat and took the thing that was under it off and it was just the thing to read how much fuel is in it. So do you have to drop the tank to swap it out?

thanks

you have an ef hatch....the fuel tank needs to be removd in order to get at the pump. eg hatches 92 and up are the ones that have the access hole under the seat. ive seen alot of shops removing the whole tank on the newer models lol ohh how i laugh at them. waste of 600 bucks!
