Default Car Shakes on acceleration at high speeds

I took my car on a road trip this weekend and on my way on to the freeway once I got up to like 55 mph, I noticed my steering wheel vibrating on acceleration. I took it up to 70 mph still same, I shifted in to 5th, still the same thing. It actually vibrates more in 4th gear than 5th, but not so much in 1st 2nd and 3rd, but i do notice it a little bit. I mean my car made it to california and back (1500 miles) just fine, but I know I'm gonna have to fix this within the next few weeks. Any thoughts on what this is? I drive a 5 speed.

Sounds like your tires are out of balance or you need new tires

i just had that problem! lol i was told my wheels bearings were bad. to test this out. take off ur wheels and brake rotors and grab onto the plate with the lugs(or whatever its called) and try to shake it. if it moves just a bit u should go get new ones. i bought new wheel bearing at autozone for 50 bucks and took it to a shop and they put it in for 35. i drove the car once since i replaced it and it doesnt shake

It shakes worse when going uphill. This doesnt seem like a wheel issue, but I will check it out. Thanks

Bad inner axle joints can cause that.

I'm leaning on it being in the wheel bearing now, just got the tires rotated and balanced, Tranny is fine. i was thinking maybe the cv boot joints whatever, but that looks fine. i lost my hydraulic jack on the last move so im SOL until i get down to harbor freight for another one.

Inner CV boot, driver's side. Engine pan leaks cause oil to drip there ripping the boot. The joint goes bad eventually.

ya know i noticed a tiny bit of oil leakage on the driver side. I've only driven the car like 500 miles since the last oil change and it must have sealed itself because the leak isnt getting worse. i need to friggin take it to a shop or get a hydraulic jack to get under there adn check things out.

to follow up, I just went out to the car, and turned the wheel so that I could get my arm under and grasp my axle. I could shake it back n forth on each side, so that wasnt good. unless that is normal? it wasnt alot of shake, just like a few mm. is it supposed to be tight?

Exactly. Slapped 2 new ones on today in about 2 1/2 hours. I was pretty amazed at how easy it was.
