Recommend me a good set of 6.5" 2 ways
Hey guys,
I am looking for a good set of 6.5" 2 ways to replace my DDDrive coax's that were damaged by some idiot...
I am not running a 4 channel but I am using a Alpine 9815 with the V-Drive amp which is a constant 27 to the speakers and 60 peak so it is decent. I am not looking to go component at this point so please only coax speakers.
I know the Type R's are really nice but I am looking for something that maybe I haven't thought of in the past.
Thanks guys!

the big thing you're gonna have to deal with is that a lot of speakers want power. the Type-R coax want like 55+ RMS. running off a head unit, you're gonna want to look at some companies entry lines. Hertz Dieci, Arc XXD or even the KS, Hybrid Imagine might even be able to run on that little power. The DDDrive coax from alpine were GREAT speakers, but alpine doesn't make them like they used to.

My setup is Kenwood hu, 991 I think, but using an old school Infinity ea3422 4 channel for amplification...
Thanks!!!
Sparkomatic
Naw, really tho, I put some Kenwoods (can find out model # if you want) in mine and really like how they perform for being hooked up to just the deck (Alpine-don't know model offhand). Still want an external amp tho.

hertz hi-energy, hybrid audio clarus - those would be my two choices. both require a decent amount of power, but not a ton. the hertz hsk165 are 125RMS, and the hybrid audio clarus C61-2 are 100 RMS, but recommended is 25-175, so you've got some wiggle room.

I am actually quite interested in the Dieci because they use the same type magnet, the neodymium that the DDDrive used and they produce really good sound so I will need to find someone that sells them.
I am not looking to spend very much because it is in my beater Maxima, I would say $80-100 max. I see you own your own shop, what do you retail the Dieci coax for?
Thanks again,
MSRP on the hertz dieci 6.5" coax is 119.99. if you goto www.elettromedia-usa.com they have a dealer locator.
