Icon2 98+ front end conversions rare?

I've been out of the Honda thing for about 5 years now and I've been doing some price checking on some of my stuff that I plan on selling. I've read that finding a 98+ front end conversion for sale is becoming difficult.

That can't be true, is it? I mean, one could easily walk down to a junkyard and pull a front end off another Integra, right?

I saw a recent classified asking about $175 for ONE headlight.

I have a 98+ front end with new, fresh shiny paint with great condition headlights and brand new corner lens. What should I ask for this thing?

A whole front end, depending on condition, can be had for 500-700 bucks. If you get everything brand new, then obviously it will be much more expensive, but assuming you find good deals on various foroums, 500 is usually the going rate for a used front end.

BTW nothing is rare if it can still be bought at the stealership

This is what I was thinking, as I read down thru the replies.

Yes they are 'rare', the newest they are is ten years old, and were produced for only four years. A lot now are damaged and have been destroyed. IMO it's better to salvage what you have unless it's beyond repair and start taking care of what is left. In ten years you won't be able to find a '98-01 Integra with the original front end, nevermind in good condition.

Sorry, not looking to trade for anything. In fact, I ask because I am typing up a description of all the stuff I'm going to be selling soon. I decided to get out of the car scene and just sell off everything.

And since a car is worth more as parts instead of a whole car I'm parting it out.

When I finally list everything I'll post a link.

Gotta take pictures of everything too.

91 EF front bumpers are almost 20 yrs old and only made 1 year and they're are still a ton around.

Not to mention with aftermarket companys theyre gonna be around a lot longer.

Aftermarket brand new bumper cover from CertaFit- 80$

Aftermarket brand new lights and markers-170$

And that's right now they'll only get cheaper as they age

To be truthful, most people don't bother with a "conversion" from a '94-97 to the '98-01, because they are almost identical. (The main difference is that the headlight covers are flush and slanted on the '98-01, vertical and sunken on the '94-97.) I wouldn't even refer to the '98-01 as a "conversion" for this reason. '98-01 front ends are available like any body parts. However, the condition of used parts you find on the internet or at a junkyard is going to vary.

They are near identical but I've heard of many people converting from 94-97 to 98+ that like the us front

also two pieces! not just the head lights and the the integra stamp is in a different spot and the grill is different also so you obviously don't know what your talking about if you think they are almost identical, being just the headlights different.

Right, I don't know what I'm talking about. Even though I've got a '94 and an '01 in my garage.

Sure, the number of pieces may be different and the grill, but those are minor differences that almost no one would ever notice from just looking at the car. The only thing that's really noticeable when you're standing next to the car is the angle of the headlight covers.

You can do the conversion if you want, but it's like putting spacers on your wheels to move them out 10 mm from your car, or getting colored lug nuts. Tell your friends about it and they'll smile at you and maybe say something like "looks cool" while what they're really thinking is "Dude, you're really obsessing over something that nobody notices or cares about". LOL! But if it makes you happy, go for it, it's your car.
