Default Itr questionH

TI been working hard on one of my friend project and he paid me instead cash but itr shell, I currently hve a gsr motor and tranny, I love the car. He took the motor, tranny. 5 lug, and seats, I manage reinstall itr seats, and 4 lug, my gsr was boosted, but turbo went out, and checked cr gsr motor is 174 all the way across, and it's tired.
So I need to rebuild the motor. I been thinking, a itr teg without actual itr motor suck *****. So instead rebuilding gsr, I would go type r, I would be spending about close to same,
So here's what I like to do. Getting a jdm type r or 2400 for 96 specs, reuse my gsr tranny, and I would like to boost it. I want to keep the ac, and also power steering, and I using the itr stock exhaust. I want a total sleeper, all I want to be alround 260-300wbp. And be at high 12s.
I going to buy the 96 specs becuz is 10.6 vs 11 u less jdm is 11 the all years. But low boost t3/4 set up. High12s daily,

Any idea what boost level, reliablity is the number 1 key

first and foremost, boost ISNT going to give u reliability unless u build it with some top $$$$.

second- the type r motor comes with a good amount of power, and since your buying a 96 spec for $2400, just keep the motor uncrack till it gives out, however MONEY talks, so its really up to you if u want something fast OR reliable!!!

lastly- congrat on getting a R! KEEP HER SAFE

man i wish i could find a friend that would give me an ITR shell as payment :-( i've been either helping the wrong friends or doing charity work for wayyyyy too long lol.

you're going to find reliability in a good tune, and the parts that you choose to install. that's up to you, but your power goal of between 260whp-300whp is actually pretty reasonable and on a t3/t4 i'd have to guess it would take 10-11 psi to get there, but the only way to really find out for sure is when it gets tuned.

First off, that was a difficult read. Secondly, the 96 spec CR was 11.1. Thirdly, you should post in the Force Induction forum for a better answer. Most of us are N/A.

sorry, bro. it was late and i was wore out after shoving a h22a in a accord. lol

yea, couple thing, the gsr is tired and since oil seal blew on turbo, i decided to go back na for now. i got about 3000 to build a motor or buy a itr.

and its kinda feel shame have a type r and dont have a type r motor sitting in the car. but that just me. now i do have a tuner, jotech in garland tx. going to have kenny to tune my car. so it be dyno tune, for sure it be done right.

i just looking for a 280-320whp daily car with ac, and getting into high 12s, if i can use type r motor and get me there, yea for sure. but i know i can't so i want to boost it.

the engine was boosted when i drop it in, so i have 440cc inj, 255 walbro, fpr, ecu setup, hell, the intercooler still on the car. lol. i know building the gsr can able to make good power and reliable, but i guess i'm lazy, i don't really want to do too much work on it. since i build and tune car for living and also down time on the car, i don't really able afford a lot of down time.

reason i thinking type r, it match the car and head is some what build since i gonna be running type r cams on gsr motor.

yea i just relized the usdm model is 10.6 and the jdm is 11.1

but the jdm gsr is 10.6? did usdm just use jdm gsr? just a thought.

i guess my question is, 8lbs boosted type r? or 12lbs boosted built with stock sleeve gsr?
which one u guys perfer?

yea, i done a lot of work for this car, he spent 16k on a turbo lsvtec that i built for him, and this eg i just did, so he felt like he kinda owe me, and he running low on money, so thats how i end up with it. but i really wish he didn't take the 5 lug, but oh well.
