I have a 91 CRX HF, my headgasket and rings are shot.. 250k on the motor. Kinda looking for the cheapest fix that's going to last me.. Thought about getting a newer d15b motorswap, would all my stuff work with that? My cable tranny? Wiring harness?

motorswap would be the cheapest route, d series motors are going for dirt cheap these days

 

I would go with a D16A6 swap you can pick one up for like 200-300 bucks and its the 88-91 SI engine. You also will need a injector resistor box which is found in the engine bay also a different ECU and an SI wiring harness. The 88's are different from the 89's and 90-91's. Do your research and ask questions and look for deals.

 

Headgasket really isn't too hard on these is it? Rings just snap in, and I guess some skill/help may be needed for fitment?
