Need ZC advice, please help!!!!!
Hello,
Almost done with my swap and the crank shaft pulley bolt breaks,
don't ask how. Everything's out, but for the love of God I can't find this freaking bolt anywhere. I thought I could use one from a '89' Integra but that didn't fit. Actually comparing the broken one with the '89' teg bolt they both looked the same except for the thread pitch. The one I need has a "bigger" thread pitch.
Can anyone please help me identify the correct part # I need for my crank pulley bolt in my ZC engine (black cover DOHC, year unknown). Maybe I have an odd year or something b/c I would think a '89' Teg bolt should fit, but it doesn't.
thanks for your help in advance.....

It's the first thing I tried and it didn't fit. I believe it was very similar if not the same as the 89 Teg bolt. thanks anyway....
Can anyone help ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You may want phone up your local auto parts guys and ask them where to get speciality
metric hardware; I bet someone in your local is a metric wholesaler. Then take in your
busted bolt and ask them to figure out the spec's on thread type, lenght etc. I did this
when I needed extra long transmission to engine bolts to get my ZC on an engine stand.
I must say that one of the downsides to the JDM ZC is the extreme difficulty in accessing
part numbers. Even if we can get part numbers, we only have access to those which are
used on other Honda engines, because I don't think that dealers can order in parts
which don't show on their systems.
good luck

Thanks gregv,
A friend suggested that as a last resort to take the broken bolt to a machine shop and have the bolt specially built. This would work, but at a high cost around $40 to $60 !!! Which is outragous but what can you do.
Anyone else have any suggestions? I'll take anything at this point.
thanks again....

Did you try the dealership? If I remember correctly, I used the one from my HF when I did my swap...so I'm sure the dealer would have it. I see no need to custome make a bolt for a Honda...now a 1922 Model T...well then yes custom might be the only way to go..but a Honda? Just my $.02 worth.
No, I didn't try the dealership ?!?!?!?!?!?
Dude, this is about the only place that I can search for the bolt besides spending all day at a junk yard and probably find nothing....
Thanks for your help but the dealership has given me no luck. Maybe I'll try out the bolt from a '90' CRX HF like you said. With my luck it will be a wasted trip.
Anyone, else have any clue as to the acurate Honda/Acura U.S. crank bolt part number for my ZC????
thanks again....

Hey man, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I called the Honda dealer and they told me that the part no. for a '90' HF crank bolt is the same as the one that I had for a '89' Integra. So I back to square one. Thanks again.....

Thanks dude, maybe I'll look into that one. I've tried the one in my old '88' si and it didn't fit. Maybe the '90' si bolt was made with bigger thread pitch.
Anyone else have any suggestions??? Thanks.....

Well, thanks to everyone who helped out. Luckily a good friend of mine went to a junk yard and took out 3 crank pulley bolts from an 88 Teg, a older Prelude, and one from a Civic, don't know the years of the last two but hey one of them actually worked!! So I'm relieved!
