Default Timing belts Aftermarket Vs. OEM

I just hit 90xxx on my GSR today and I'm wanting to do the full timing belt job (Belt,Tensioner,Waterpump,Alt,PS,AC belts) in the next 5-7,000 miles. I always use OEM Honda parts and plan to with everything for this job,But i found that a lot of trusted aftermarket manufacturers make timing belts for the b18c engines.

Do any of you all motor guys have any experience with aftermarket belts like (Greddy,Toda,Gates racing,Power enterprise). Are there really any advantage to these more $$$ belts over the OEM units?

with a really stiff aftermarket valvetrain yes, something like the greddy would be a benefit. an oem motor? not so much. acuraoemparts.com well sell you the whole package at a discount.

The aftermarket timing belts are stronger. I dont know the service interchange on those though. I would just use Oem unless you have bigger cams and stiff valvetrain. other than those reasons there are no benefits to upgrading the belt.

I've seen two greddy belts go loose or "stretch". I like Toda with upgraded cams/valvetrain.

Many high HP race motors run stock strength belts and that's all 99.9% of the builds on here need.
