i have a 85 crx, the valve cover gets extremly hot...... i dont know whats wrong the temp gage stays at a good point but when i open the hood its like a heat wave off the valve cover..... what could be wrong?

you can't be serious? does your valve cover have heat sinks?

 

do you even know how a motor works? try touching various engines in all types of vehicles.........They will all be hot!

the vavle cover does not have heat sinks...... i already busted a cam becuase of it... it heated up my cam belt and made it skip teath and trow everything out of timeing. i bent 2 valves and boke the cam....... im not a idiot so dont tell me the engine is hot or **** like that... i was just wondering if anyone has ever herd of a problem like this before or if they know what it could be........ the valve cover is about at hot as the exhaust manifold.........

Is the cam seizing up in the cam holders? What do the bearing surfaces look like...

yes, when you detonate the explosin inside your engine reaches 1600 degrees inside by the piston an spark plug. very bad.

I thought it was "drive drive drive it like its hot". Like a stolen car? Anyways, I suggest you hook up an external temp guage and check the temp. I have never heard of the head getting so hot that the timing belt jumps. dunno, im hot too

 

thats why we live in canada just leave hood up overnight and let the snow poor in the close it.. solves the problem.
