Heat Cycling Street Tires?
Hmm, I've always not driven any more than 1 1/2 hour when tires were new, until 500-600 miles were on them. I drove in non-aggressive manner. But then again, "performance" street tires might be a matter of opinion. I did this with ES100's, S-Drive, etc (no Advan or Azenis). But I might just be crazy.
I have found that brand new tires can tear and chunk if quickly overheated. Just as new brake rotors/pads can sheer if not bedded when new.

Yeah, I read on tirerack that tires need to be broken in, in the same manner as you described, but I was thinking, if I didn't want to wait, tirerack only charges $15/tire to heat cycle. Is there a disadvantage to this at all? Or is it just a professional/proper break in.
