are CRX rear drum and rear disk trailing arms different
I'm swapping out my 89 rear drums for 91 rear disks. Both cars are stock CRX si's and are complete with trailing arms, e-brake, cables, lines, prop valve, etc.
Question - Can't I just swap the hub and spindle rather than the entire trailing arm assembly ?
Thanks - I did search. Tons of results for integra to crx swaps.

What you need to compare, if you have both. Is where the caliper meets the trailing arm on the disk model to the mounting for the drum set-up.
My existing control arm bushings are new and would I like to keep them in place, only swapping the drum hubs to disk brake hubs.
Everything visibly appears to match up. Can anyone confirm before I tear into this?
Thanks

If you look on the back side of the trailing arm you will see a 24mm nut and inside the the trailing arm i belive 5 tork bolts remove them and the whole hub and spindle will come off. Then put you disk brake spindle on make sure you torque the bolts and 24mm nut done good.

Good info - I appreciate it.

ya you can replace just the spindle i believe it has 5 star bolts,u have to use a #55 bolt (you can get it at autozone for 7 bucks) to unbolt it (i recomend to spray some WD40) because they are so hard.
i had to do this hub replacement on my civic when i swapped drum to disc. if the torx bolts are too rusted, the bolt out kit from craftsman, a 10" extension in 1/2" drive and an impact gun will get em out.
When you have the drum brakes removed you will see the ends of the torx bolts on the spindle, heat them with a blow torch and they are alot easier to remove.
