Default EF suspenshion question

I have a bushing going out on my Driver's upper control arm. I heard its just as easy to get a new upper than buy a bushing. Eventually I would like to squeez 225/55/R15 rubber under my car. Would I have to buy special upper control arms for this fit?? If I did replace with new uppers, could I run the stock setup for a moment w/o screwin things up?? Or would I have to revamp the whole front end? All suggestions welcome for my future setup!!

Not that you can't get a new bushing that is that size to work, but if you ask for that bushing for your specific car you'll get the whole upper control arm because that's. Just how they market the replacements...its a good idea anyway cause then you get a fresh upper balljoint.

The "special" upper control arms are camber kits and do just that, they won't make much difference for wider tires. In that case your just gonna have to mount them and see where they scrubb inside the wheel well.

Hmm ok, so I'll need a chamber kit, still not sure about the offset for the rims. Im not too teribly concerned about wheel rub b/c Im going to cut out a good amount of metal out of the fenders and Fab my own widebody. Im also thinkin of 1.5-2" drop.
Please keep the sugestions coming, my mind is hungry!!

im going to assume you have bad BALL JOINT instead of a bushing in the upper front control arm.

generally, later model EF A-arms have replaceable balljoints. earlier arms are welded in. but finding a replacement ball joint that will fit in is a bit difficult to find. and for the money, youre better off just buying a whole new arm since it comes already fully assembled, with new bushings for around $100 each.

skunk2 makes a suitable replacement A arm for the EF that doesnt interfere that adjusts CAMBER. but i dont see why you really need it. its completely regardless of your drop and wheel size. and theyre usually out of stock due to lack of supply and high demand.

id stick with oem.

yeah that sounds more like it (ball joint). When I had the car on the life last, the whole asembly moved around more than normal compared to the passenger side.
Allrighty then I'll just get a new arm and be done with it. I just wanted to make sure, thanks for your help guys!!

You can search for the skunk2 specific, camber adjustable arm on ebay and find several sellers with these in stock front and rear for around the same price.

I have had my eye on a set front and rear for both crx and my da integra for a long time now but I never seem to have the dough....

And those tires he's talkin about are gonna improve his grip like a champ, i'd get 16's though...
