Default Friends d16z6 swapped 90 crxsi is missing a trans mount. Something else maybe?

A friend of mine recently purchased a 90 crx with a 92 d16z6 swap. The transmission mount between the transmission and bottom of the (core support?) is missing and we were going to order one from innovative but then realized the mount has a single bolt that goes through the bushing. All my friends transmission has is a flat front face with a few bolt holes like something is missing in the equation. Any ideas? All help is appreciated.

Are you talking about a front mount? One that bolts from the tranny to core (by the radiator?) If you look in the engine bay of an EG, there is not one. In 92 those front mounts went away and opened up the front of the engine bay a lot. Also this when the tranny switched to hydro and there is a slave on the front of the tranny front 92 up. If you are putting a D16z6 into a CRX, there will not be a front mount.... IMO more room for a bigazzz turbo lol.

Ohhh i see. Well since his has the cable trans from the 90 crx still and a innovative competition bar with what i believe to be provisions for a mount, does he have the option to use one? His motor does move quite a bit and as we just installed (or in the process rather) a skunk 2 pro series intake that barely clearences the firewall im a bit worried it'll be a issue once we get it rolling again.

This is a shot of an EG engine bay which the D16z6 comes in... I circled in red the area I think you are talking about. If that is the case, you won't have a mount there with that motor in it.

If you are using the stock cable transmission with the z6, you use the front mount from the CRX. If you motor is moving around a lot, I would suggest getting some Prothane motor mount inserts. I put them in my z6 swapped hatch and they are great! The motor doesn't move at all.

Thanks 8, thats kinda what i was thinking. Whats the name of that piece though? He has an innovative competition bar that has provisions for the mount they sell. I just need from the center of the mount to the transmission itself (factory crx cable trans). Whats that piece called?

The front mount is attached to the transmission, not the engine.

what piece?? ok you have a crx trans on the z6...use the crx lower trans mount. it bolts up to the trans using 2 bolts. i have the same traction bar you have, it has the mounting point on it for the d series trans mount. just bolt it together. whats missing

Yes, right after the install it was pretty bad, but after about 3k miles it's not so bad.

50840-SH3-000 013 001 MOUNTING ASSY., FR. STOPPER (MT) - this is what you need. I would just order it through Majestic Honda.
