I have an automatic but I still the get the shaking at a certain speed then it goes away. Not too sure about the shifting dilemma but this may help about the shaking...Take it to a reliable tire shop. First check the alignment and balance of all your tires. My alignment was off to begin with. Also, one of the wheels was bent where someone had hit me earlier and I had been told it was replaced. Second, check the axel. My axel was loose and the initial fix was to tighten it while the other part was being ordered. That fixed the shaking somewhat but not completely. Where I live the roads are awful with potholes and speed bumps are the most damaging type on the road. So I would definitely check the alignment and axel to deal with the shaking.

Hope that helps with at least one part of your problem.
