I need some inspiration to make an intake for my turbo. for the race track. I have a ram horn and t3 in my Ek hatch. Post up soem pics and Ideas please!

Heh, nice timing. Just put this together today:

Sits right under the battery tray and has plenty of clearance over the traction bar. (this is in a 5th gen prelude)

Im currently working on fabbing one up for my turbo. Im using the drivers headlight as the induction hole/scoop and building a air box in between the turbo and headlight. ill post some pics when finished.
Heres mine. Not much in the creativity department, but it works. I figured something was better then no filter at all... so here is what I came up with.

ill post pics up when i get my cam but those who have the intake inside their engine bay it's certainly better than running no filter but it's just about useless since your sucking in all the hot air coming off the radiator not to mention surrounding hot hoses. Ideally you want fresh cold air and wrap the pipe going to the compressor.

Here is the pic as promised.
The piping itself is steel and custom made with proper bends to clear everything. The entire piping is ceramic coated inside and out. Also wrapped with reflective heat tape to help aid in keeping the air cool all the way through.
For anyone running it in the engine bay i suggest you rework that pipe. Also portions of the charge pipe are also wrapped not seen in this pic.

Here is exactly not what to do. full radiator getting heat soaked then fan directing hot air into turbo filter. gonna fix very soon.
tig welded 4 inch mandrel bent pie cuts to a blox 4" aluminum velocity stack center over the opening in the engine bay for the stock air filter routing and then raddled can painted with high temp paint... i will be ceramic coating all my charge pipes one of these days....

Do you have any info to back this statement up or is it just pure assumption? I draw my intake air right off the back of the radiator. I log intake temp readings POST intercooler, pre throttle body and I am always ~10 degrees above ambient temperature. I'd say things are working just fine with this setup... wouldn't you?
Yes, in fact i do have proof. I data logged my temps before and after with no piping, with short piping like yours and many others then the modified piping unwrapped and wrapped. It's common sense bud your sucking in that hot air coming off your radiator and if your happy with your temps then more power to you. Along with data logging i have a laser temp sensor that i used as well to gather data. I can tell you this much if you call Church and talk to any of the tuners there including Shaun he will say the same the car will gain more power with the setup i have vs inside eng compartment filter setups. Not that it will not work it will just be less efficient. Don't get me wrong i started with what you have like many others.

If you want to make it fit you probably can, but it will require some custom piping and bends that you can't get from PVC piping or off the shelf stuff. It will be a one off and im sure you can make it work. All of our cars have the charge pipe pretty much in the same location so your not the exception. It's a matter of how much your willing to spend to get the piping made as it won't be cheap since it requires a lot of cutting and welding and fitting.
