Need some imput on buying a NSX?
So like the title says what should i look for when buying a NSX i had a RSX. witch i paid like 14 gran for and saw a 91 NSX for 19 i am willing to pay a little more for a classic Japanese master car.
I just need to know what should i look for like bads.
What mileage does the tranny begin to go bad.
What are expencive things to fix.
I have a 10 hour job so i could afford it and im just 20 years old so i know insurance is ganna be expencive.

I talked to him and he lowered the price to 18k cuz he knows i will take care of the car and im good with cars.
Im just waiting for the bank to give me a call
that seems super cheap for an nsx does it have 200k miles? is it automatic?
like taiwandiao said look out for the snap ring range, info can be found on prime, and if the timing belt and water pump hasnt been done, or the clutch is worn, these repair expenses can be huge if you dont do them yourself, and still rather expensive for the parts if you do.

He gave me some links on some 96s that seemed pretty clean and stock.

youre 20? you should think about this before you commit. maybe people much older than you would have a hard time maintaining a car like this, even with decent jobs.
Stay away from the 95-96 targa cars. They are heavier and still have the 3.0. They are pretty slow compared to a coupe or the 97 + targa cars.

I was 21 when I bought mine, age doesn't have much to do with the purchase if its within ur means and approached with a mature attitude. U can find them for a lot cheaper these days but do NOT forget even with lower miles these cars are approaching 2 decades old. Parts are not standard Honda cheap either...
I got a smoking deal on mine due to necessary maintenance that required immediate attention. My investment is intended to be a lifer though. I own a piece of engineering history, will stay in storage the day I have no use for it. That nature isn't common in our generation like it is with classic car owners.

My .02? Buy the best example of the car you can find. Wait if you don't find it immediately...there will always be another NSX out there.
I've seen way too many people buy a cheap NSX that needs a lot of TLC and then blash the car for having problems and not being pristine.
