Hi,

I have 2002 civic coupe EX. Recently my driver side door cannot be locked/unlocked by the key fob, whereas the passenger side door lock/unlocks fine. Whenever I press the lock/unlock key on the fob, the front and tail lights flash as usual.

Even when I use the central lock on the driver side, the passenger door lock/unlocks but the driver side does not.

Any suggestions on on how to find the issue and fix it?

I'm willing to bet that the door lock actuator needs to be replaced.

 

It's the actuator. Same thing happened to me.

now, i have the opposite problem. I did replace the door lock actuator on the driver side. does that control both doors? I'm assuming it does since before the actuator went, I could lock/unlock both doors with the driver side door. Now that I've replaced the actuator, the driver side locks/unlocks with the keyless entry but the passenger side doesn't work and I cannot control the passenger side door lock with the driver side. Could it just be a loose wire on the driver side? Or is there something amiss on the passenger side?
