Default 97 ITR swap..few questions

ok i have a 97 itr swap in my car, now idk if its just me, or what, but say im on 3rd at 40mph and i downshift to 2nd, the cars moves ok but really gets it after vtec kicks in. like if im launchin it hard from 1st gear, it runs fine all the way thru, if im downshiftin, it kinda hesitates in a way, idk..feels alot stronger when vtec kicks. my question is...is it because the torque and etc kicks in at later rpm on the type r engine? i felt that my gsr motor responded better at lower revs, since it torque does kick in earlier on the gsr than ITR.

so whats u guys output on this?

i also heard of checking the grounding for it?> ive heard of people having same issue and they rechecked their grounding wires and eveything worked fine. if so which wires id need to check?? im always down to work on my car. no i dont have a ground wire from valve cover to chassis.

by the way, im running Royal purple 10-w30 synthetic moor oil and GM synchromesh friction modified for tranny and NGK Spark Plug Part No. 6741

bogging is almost always ignition timing and or a need of tune up. plugs, wires etc.

i would put it on a dyno and find out what is exactly going on.

if it was a loose ground, when you downshifted it would cut vtec all the way out, and probably leave it out, cuz vtec makes the engine rumble and would keep it to lose to work properly.

if it was me i would put it on a dyno, maybe come with a chip you can tune, not only find out the problem gain some extra power, and come home with a chart knowing what your baby puts down.... thats me though

Do the valve cover ground make a difference? So I'm guessing when people get these name brand ground kit, all they receive is a tranny n valve cover ground.

Car runs really strong all thru out every gear, downshifting in other gears string too, but 2nd is not slow but not as quick as da rest, like I said maybe is because the torque don't kick in till 7,500. So at 30moh on 2nd is a lil too low.
