I am selling my immaculate condition 2006 RX-8 Grand Touring. It is a 6-speed manual with Whitewater Pearl exterior and black leather interior. I am the second owner and purchased it directly from the original owners, an elderly couple who only drove the car on perfect sunny summer weekends. It has seen snow exactly once and has lived in a garage far more than outside, and especially driven. At the time of this post it has about 17,650 miles on it, and it will not be increasing much. I have another car that I will be driving until this sells. I am selling because I enjoy it so much that I would like to snag a brand new one while they're still being offered.

If you are in the market for an above-average example without having to question the previous history; this is the car for you. I enjoy finding rare and obsessively clean examples of cars, and the previous cars I've owned often sell sight unseen to buyers several states away. I have over 100 high res pictures to document the car from just about every angle. It is literally 99% perfect, whereas I consider most used cars on the market to be about 50-70% perfect. This will probably not appeal to everyone, but the right buyer will appreciate the condition and price. I have seen brand new 2010 models on the lot in equal or worse condition than my 5 year old example.

The leather in the 2006+ models is extra plush, and my seats look un-used compared to other RX-8s of similar age and mileage. The pearl paint is infinitely deep, and mesmerizes anyone who appreciates a clean car and excellent factory paint job. I have not re-touched any section of the car; it is 100% original. The 1% "not-perfect" on the car is some minor curb rash on the front lip from the previous owner, and a couple microscopic rock chips. I do not find any other faults with the car's cosmetic condition.

Mechanically, the car is as sound as you would expect from something virtually brand new. I have not had any major service to perform; the car has been flawless for myself and the original owners. I have oil changes done every ~3,000 miles at the local Mazda dealership, and the prior owner did the same. An oil change has been done within the past 500 miles, and receipts show this. I, nor the dealer, have noticed any unusual oil consumption issues. The clutch is firm and within spec, the transmission shifts effortlessly, and the engine revs smoothly throughout the entire powerband. The tires are the original Bridgestone RE050's and have plenty of tread remaining. The car never sat for a huge period of time, so there are no worries of dry rotting, etc.

I had brand new sun visors installed prior to the bumper to bumper warranty ending last month, as they were showing signs of breaking soon. The powertrain warranty is valid until August 2011 and the 100,000 mile engine warranty is still intact as well. The car has never been modified beyond a set of OEM clear corners, which are no longer on the car. Never raced, tracked, or abused in other fashion. This RX-8 is as reliable as they come, and it has never been "flooded", or left me stranded. In fact, it has been just as reliable, if not more so, than previous Hondas, Acuras, and Subarus I've had. Many of the miles I've put on the car have been highway trips, and I would not hesitate to drive this cross country and back, not only out of reliability, but also for sheer comfort. Observed gas mileage is usually 17-18 city and 20-21 highway, right about normal.

It should go without saying, but this car has a clean title with zero accidents. I have the title in hand, and there will be no lien on the car at the time of sale. Potential buyers will have no problem obtaining a loan on this car, as both Edmunds and KBB values are $20,000+.
