F23 block/H22A head... who wants to help me get it together?
the car is an acura cl.. got the h22a DOHC VTEC head in good condition with complete valvetrain.. its stamped p13 so i guess it is.. not so sure bout the intake mani, throttle body, or the dizzy..
intake mani seems to fit but it looks like someone tried to port match it.
same for the throttle body it looks a lil bored from the inside.. any suggestions on how to identify if they are f series or anything?
the guy said sumthin bout f20b throttle body but i wuz kinda faded lol..
it has the vtec solenoid but looks like a bit of cracked plastic.
no injectors or fuel rail.. quite a few missing bolts/nuts/studs..
so i was thinking...
new valves,
injectors/fuel rail
water pump
timing belt
valve seals/gaskets..
i was told to remove the butterflies and cut em open wide..
i guess i really need the check list together before i get it all installed..
tryna keep it as cost friendly as possible until i get the REAL work on it..
just wanna get this thing on already nd get it tuned/dyno'd..
keep in mind its a daily driven car so reliablility is a must..
im stickin to this thread till it gets fired up nd tuned.
ohh yea, blah blah to everyone thats gunna say somethin dumb about the build cuz im still gonna do it wether you want me to get the k20 or h22 swap.. i got wat i want nd im stickin to it..

There's a couple of g23 build threads around, check them out for the things you need to make it work. Have a machine shop check over the head for cracks and anything out of the ordinary, otherwise have yourself a great build!
yea i was thinking the same too.. it seemed too cheap to be true but the guy rolled up in an s2k nd said he cn care less bout the parts nd just wants to buy halo3 wit a 360.. maybe when i take it to the mechanic for the valve reseat job ($100+any bent valves) he will check it for any damage?
i cant see any cracks no matter how close i check.. \
my friends are gonna take me to jerry nd get it set up right.. ill check the other threads for any more parts cuz i heard about rod damage from revving an f23 to 8k

nd yea pirate i dont really find the need to go that high (i was reccomended to get all the available power with a p13 ecu) but im not a super genious thats why im POSTING in a thread.. u go search i got tired of that crap.. all the info isnt there nd the only people who actually have the full know how of this are either charging for their knowlege or goin around postin up something that has no use to me (what you did)
so yeah whatll give out on the lower end is what i want to know.. maching new rods wouldnt solve the problem either im betting..

damn which reminds me why i was keeping the xbox...
i have about less than a month b4 it needs put together..
i decided just to build it for the dohc's extra power.. i dont want to risk the engine until i have enough money to fall back on.. ohh well im out to get the valve job done and see whats next.. valve seals too just cuz theyre 30 bux..

my g23s still going good with over 3k miles on it so far using crower rods though and i dont rev it up to 10k have redline at 9ish havent hit the limiter once
