Default Acryllic tops

Just wondering if anyone has had any experence with the acryllic/lexan tops? I picked one up for my del sol and it is not really cracked but the acyllic or lexan material is spidering. I have talked to a few local glass shops and their is nothing they can do to replace the top due to it needs to be heated and molded then glued to the metal frame.

From what they have said it is not very common but does happen, specially with the corvette targa tops like this one. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried anything to clear up the spidering of the tops?

not much you can do about the spider cracks, short from getting a new top.

yea that's what everybody is saying. i was hoping maybe someone has had the same problem with one and tried using something that worked.

the guy at a local window shop suggested using a polyurethane weatherproofing and lightly apply it to the top. just not sure how that would turn out.

i thought about maybe looking at some type of wax but not sure how that would turn out once it got down into the cracks. i'm afraid buffing it will only leave swirl marks and not get rid of the spidering.
