Default SOHC adjustable cam gear

Are all the adjustable cam gears for the SOHCs the same or are they motor specific? Looking around on EBAY I noticed that they list as being compatable for just about every D series out there.

I have to ask. Why are you buying an adjustable SOHC gear?

And off of ebay?

It's a good thing d-series are cheap. I get the impression you'll be needing a replacement soon.

Edit: To answer your question they're interchangeable.

Not ALL d-series, but all the d-series from 92-00 should be identical. Minus the DOHC ZC

I plan on dropping an A6 cam into my B7. Y7/Y8 cam gear is the way to go but fine tuning would be nice.

As to the 92-00 all being identical... How is it that the timing marks all line up the same? I would think you would need to have the timing marks correct for the specific motor. So say for instance if I took a Y/Y8 adjustable gear and put it onto a B7, how would I know how to line up TDC? Because obviously the marks are different on the stock gears.

Thank you.
