Hey, so my co-worker has a 99 Civic and she noticied underneath her floor mat was water. You can smell it too when you get into the car that something wasnt right. You lift up the floor mat and you can see the droplets of water coming off the bottom of the floor mat and you run your hands through the carpet its wet. where could this be coming from?

 

The heater core may have a leak. Do you smell coolant? Or does the carpet get wet only after a rain?

 

could be a leaky window gasket. i had something similar and it end up there wasnt a proper seal where the outside vent came into the cab. fixed with some weather stripping and some window caulking. i hope you get it fixed. i hate that smell

 

nope carpet only gets wet after rain... it was raining pretty bad yesterday in Orlando and today is when she noticed it. Never had that problem before... and no smell of coolant just a wet poodle smell

 

the window gasket will flow it all the way down to the carpet though??? I noticed when i opened the door some condensation/water droplets on the door sill nearest to the speaker

 

someone suggested it might be from the front windshield??? any takes on this?
