Mysterious leak >_<
Gentlemen i need some help, mainly from fourth gen owners (but if anyone else knows i'd appreciate the help).
As some of you may or maynot know i drive a 4th gen, my problem is this: there is a leak somewhere in the trunk of the car, and i have no idea where it's coming from (i think it's on the left side). Anyway, i've pulled everything out of my trunk, hosed it down and still found nothing. Weather stripping around the trunk is fine too. This really hasn't been to much of an issue until recently when i tropical storm passed through and i found a friggn pool of water in the spare wheel well.
I'll take any help i can get.

i have that problem, my uncle's accord had that problem. it's just a 4th gen accord quirk. it's no real big deal, i just pulled the lining out of my trunk so the moisture wouldn't have anywhere to hide or mildew. no rust either

my car was doing this a bout 2 years ago and it turned out to be the drain tube on the antenna popped off and SOMEHOW it was running along to the carpet. so i guess make sure its OK and not clogged.
.... mebbe you too?
edit: i'm from Florida too originally and it would only do it when it rained HARD.

put a small freind in the trunk and then hose the car down. .. keep it going till he bangs on the trunk telling you where its at.>> or get a big *** bucket or your garbage can.. fill it up.. add food coloring.. and pour it on the back end.. see where the water is coming in

Same leak here, I have no clue where it is coming from... I'll have to check the antenna... where does the drain go? Actually where does the water that the drain takes away come from? Down the antenna?

yep down the antenna (believe it or not), and its just a lil rubber hose that dumps out on the bottom of the car.
You know i bet that's it, because the water always accumulates in the left side of the trunk.
Hey guys i really appreciate all the help!

my acura trunk leaks like hell after rain/carwash..due to bad gasket from the 13 years old tail light and the wore out pads from the oem wing.
i place like a cardbox flat in the trunk to suck up some water.

Mine still leaked after I shaved the antenna. Turns out that a portion of the urethane that holds in the back window had a gap in it and it leaks from there. Which reminds me, I better fix that before winter.
"(2point6)check the foam seals between the tailights and the body of the car. this is a comon area to leak."
I was wondering if my small leak on the left-hand side was due to bad foam gaskets around the tailights myself. If I order new a one at the dealer what kind of adhesive should be used? I saw there were 4 bolts on the inside those come off first...are there more after that??
Does someone have more info on where the antenna drain tube is and where it drains too? I was wondering if its that as well as the water seems to collect in the indentation of the floor near the antenna now that I think about it.
i had the lake in my trunk for a while like 2.6 . i could actually see brown stains of where water flowed through the taillights, but it only happened on the ones not attached to the trunk(the two outer ones) just remove the couple of bolts and you will see where the seal has failed. i just put silicone on the foam around the perimeter where you can tell it is supposed to make contact. this ended my problems for 1.29$ and its been gravy for a year
I figured out where my leak is coming from! Finally. Sorry hit post too soon, OK so I thought put a hose on the roof and see where the water is leaking in the trunk, it's always on the left side, but I didn't see anything so I tried the antenna, and as I was pouring water on the top of the antenna, I saw where the water was coming from... it's the vent that allows air to flow thru the car and out the trunk, unfortunately it's INSIDE the rear bumper so I had to take that off, but just a little bit of silicone and it's fixed, no more leak! Seems the water goes behind the bumper and the rubber seal has gotten worn out after all these years, and started to leak. Anyhow hope this helps someone else who is having this annoying leak!
