Default CEL Catilitic Converter?

Alright so i had a CEL came on the other day and the guy at autozone ran the code and said it was the catulitic converter. He inspected my exhaust system which is factory on a 1998 Accord v6 and said that the code came on because of a leak behind my left drivers side muffler. What should i do??

if I'm not mistaken your mufflers are near the rear of the system. having a leak at that point won't make a bit of difference. Probably what code you have is the 2nd oxygen sensor after the cat. How many miles do you have on the car?

He reset the light before he gave me the code and he said that all it said when it came up was catalytic converter. What are some signs that this would be bad and how should i go about replacing it?
