Default Finally replacing Input Shaft bearing soon.

I was just wondering what kind of parts I need?

-Input Shaft Bearing
- Input Shaft Bearing Seal

Anything else?

And if you guys can.. can you provide the part number?

OEM is possible.

Thanks in advance.

It's for a 1997 Honda Civic EX 5 Speed MT

check www.hondapartsunlimited.com or similar sites for the right part number.

the bearing and seal (and Hondabond) was all i needed when i did mine, but i knew the trans was otherwise in very good shape. consider a rebuild kit if yours is ragged out or shifts poorly.

you may have one already, but i had to buy a bearing puller to remove the old bearing.

i used one like this from Harbor Freight-

I can't say I recall having to use a bearing puller for removing the ISB. When I replaced mine, I also found the bearing on the opposite end of the same shaft took a dive too. Replacing it was as simple as the ISB - no bearing puller/guillotine needed.

And if the link provided above doesn't get you a factory part #, try Majestic Honda.

Some snap ring pliers were helpful when I pulled the transmission apart. Also buy a few bottles of Honda MTF.
