Same as any other engine. Buy a decent header and a good lightened flywheel. Two great mods to start out with

There's some good complete kits in the vendor forum here. Or you could always buy a used turbo and some ebay piping.

There's TONS of ways to do a cheap turbo and reliably.

I've often considered the possibility of buying ebay piping + intercooler and buying a good turbo manifold and turbo.

You can boost your car for very little money with some determination. It's very important to get a tune once you're done though.

cheap short ram intake with good air filter, decent header and exhaust, lightened flywheel. Thats a good start. Eventually new fuel rails, cams, with bigger injectors and new ignition. Possibilities are endless. But complete turbo seteps are pretttttty cheap these days

Fuel rails are for bling unless you have more than 400hp. If you are not going turbo, you would want an really good header because that's where all the power can be made.

Having a fun car but wanting to build it cheaply will not yield good results.

You'll spend about twice as much making a quick naturally aspirated b20 than an equivalent quick turbo b20.

Yea, but if his compression is high why would you risk running your engine too hard versus just building it up without a turbo?

From what I have gathered from reading is strapping on a turbo to a high compression engine is not the best idea if you want it to last. If I am wrong though, please elaborate so I can understand better.
