Default 98 civic hatch with b18c swap - should I upgrade the fuel system?

I have 98 ek civic hatch with a b18c motor swap

My question is i have been hearing people say i should upgrade my stock fuel pump that is in my car to a walboro 255. Is this true guys? some people are saying that the stock fuel pump isnt feeding the motor enough gas.

Also if i upgrade the fuel pump i am also going to upgrade the fuel rail and injectors all at once would i have to get a tune and what size injectors should i get.

I am not trying to go turbo but down the road when i get more money i am going to build the head and performance bolt on upgrades and will get bigger injectors down the road to suit the upgrades

I am running a stock fuel rail and injectors and everything else stock.

Default Re: should i upgrade fuel

no, no, and no.

the fuel pump itself will not put any more fuel into the engine. you would need the bigger injectors. you'd also need more air getting into the chamber too or it would run rich with more fuel then air mixture. 255lph is overkill anyways without turbo or a pretty beefy NA.

the fuel rail is purely just for looks. it won't help performance wise at all.
you would want to tune it. but you don't need any bigger injectors at all yet.

back off the car and do some research first.
get your bolt ons i/h/e likewise. a tuning program chrome, neptune, hondata. build the head and worry about injectors and fuel as its needed in the build.

to answer your question in short, no for the time being, the stock fuel pump will suffice. I am running an LS in my hatch with stock fuel pump and problems. Later down the road when you start modding, the necessary fuel/tuning/etc upgraded will come along.
