Icon2 Engine swap prices

Hey guys, first off, thanks again to everyone who replied to my first question yesterday evening, it was very helpful and it's nice to know that there are people out there that are willing to help.........

Well here's my next one, I'm searching high and low for a b16a engine and tranny swap to throw in the 'Sol, I've found a lot of good choices and some pretty decent prices, but I'm all about saving money.......with that said, if anyone knows of any good websites (besides ebay, craigslist, or jdmsource.ca, cuz I've looked) or anyone on here who is selling such items, please let me know, again the info would be greatly appreciated.....OH! and it would also be helpful if the setup came with the ECU (cuz we all know that makes things easier)......so....any suggestions?

I dunno if you're in Canada or not, but I noticed you listed JDMsource.ca
I understand they are in Calgary, but if you're anywhere near Ottawa checkout http://japanpowerinc.com/

My brother picked up a B20A for his Prelude. They were asking $800 + tax and shipping. They sold him the engine for $750 out the door because he paid cash and picked it up.
I've asked them about a couple different engines for my EG and they have given me really decent quotes. The engine my brother got was in great shape and he has had no issues with it. Hope this helps

@beckerton, I'm actually in Fort Hood, TX, I just know of the site because quite a few people suggested it to me, but thank you, I'm willing to buy from anywhere as long as they ship to my front door

as ek guy said hmotorsonline. don't go anywhere else. oh and get the LSD too. you might save 300 initially but you'll be disappointed when you get it in.

I planned on getting the LSD, but if im just doing this for a slightly quicker daily driver, is it really necessary?

I know the b16a has never been known for tons of low-end torque, but i don't have the money to go with something rediculous like a b18c or f20b, the f20 is more feaseable and slightly cheaper, but after having to buy the axle and motor mount conversion, it would add up to more than a b16 that would just bolt right up and except my axles beautifuly

You could even buy a blox LSD. I've heard good things about them.

Even for a daily driver you can REALLY tell a difference on the street with an LSD. It's really like adding some solidity to your drivetrain. Very worthwhile upgrade.

yeah so are h22's and they're about the same price and have a lot more potential.

Also b20's have some very unusual characteristics with sleeving and they have a mediocre head.

They're a good budget motor but don't expect the world from them.

i got the world from mine haha ok seriously if this is his first swap then he needs to start with a b-series and i dont see how a h22 can have more potential then a b20, clearly given any amount of cash thrown at any motor it can be a beast, he could get the b20 or hell even just a ls, slap a b16 head on it with cams and he's done note: this guy is just trying to getta swap done for just a daily, we want beast for daily's but he just wants to get to A to B smoothly haha

I know a lot of my buddies are using www.teknotik.com.

From what I remember, one of them picked up a B16 from Teknotik for around $1100-1200.

Hope this helps.

Hmotorsonline. Their engines are SUPER CLEAN and have around 30-40k on them. You wouldn't even have to replace anything on them( but you should )
