10% Ethanol Gas Mixture in 95 Del Sol
I have read that ethanol is a good fuel to use and that it burns cooler and a higher volume is required for use. In an all gas designed system, is there any tuning required specific to using the 10% ethanol mixture (fuel pump, filter, air-fuel mixture, etc..)? Can the stock ECU compensate for the use of this fuel? When adding a CAI as well as an aftermarket IM with larger plenum, changing the air-fuel ratios as well - can the ECU keep up with this, or is an ECU management component necessary as well?
i know that in FI, if you want to run e85 as well as reg pump gas you would need a seperate tune. Although e85 may be cheaper, i believe it uses around 30% more than compared to reg pump gas.
I would try it if i had it in my area and then monitor gas mileage, a wideband would probably be a nice tool to monitor everything.

I believe Cali has 10% mixture year round at all pumps. Around me, it's only during winter. But, yes, you'll be fine and won't have to do anything. Only thing you'll notice is sightly less mpg. Supposed to burn cleaner, though. Although you're using more of it.
Just run water/alcohol injection system ist a lot better and it allows you to run higher compression with pump gas, without the risk of detonating or preigniting and damaging your motor.
Have 10% mixture hear all year. So I gather that the stock ECU will make all necessary adjustments even with 10% and more air through intake? My concern was too lean of a mixture causing premature engine problems. Run pump gas now at 93 octane+the 10% ethanol.
yes you will be fine and the stock ECU will richen up the mixture after it realizes it is running a tad lean. just make sure you have a functional o2
