Default 88 dx to 90 dx dash harness

My question is on the cabin harness from headlight to interior will an 88 dx work on a 90 dx? I did alot of searching and found one thread that says the 88 is different having a different plug used to connect the rear harness to fuel pump rear tails and wiper. I read one had 15 the other had 21 pins. I don't have my original 90 harness to check but I have an option to buy an 88 harness and does anyone know any other differences

I have only ran into this problem one time and it was a hack together car. 90 dp-mp engine harness, 90 dash harness, 88 ignition harness, 88 dx hatch. A LOT of the plugs are different BUT the car runs and very few things work. It was a drag car project a customer of mine was doing and he just wanted it to run. This is what he had to work with.

You best bet is to find a 90 dash harness to cut out all the bullsh1t.....hope this helps.

Thanks for the input my problem is back when people first started doing the dpfi to mpfi swap my buddy did one in a civic n helped me on my rex. Well long story short he had me put a whole new harness in the car with the si engine harness n hack **** to make it run and now I'm sick of not having anything but my speedo work. Its been so long now tho idont remember wat all I did or changed so I'm trying to figure out what I have so I know what harness I need I think basically I just want to find the stock dx and modify it like I should have in the beggining but I'm trying to figure out if the si has the same plugs under dash and all minus the engine harness connections in which I already have the si engine harness

Ok so did more searching and found the 88-89 will not work in my 90 dx. I have the si engine harness and si fuse box so can I use a 90-91 si cabin harness plug n play? I know if I get a dx cabin and engine I can revert back to dx fuse box n rewire the engine with my si for mpfi but id much rather plug in an si and everything work but can I?

It sounds like it would work. I know that with a correct/matching si dash harness/si engine harness, si fuse block, and the correct year ignition harness it should work. If are in texas i can get you all fixed up...usually that is not the case tho.

Thanks tx I'm almost positive it will work minus swapping a few dash cluster items I just was trying to find out for sure so I didn't waste time and money. And yea I live in pennsylvania a few to many hops skips and one giant jump away. And m2theizzy swapping a dash from an 88-89 to 90-91 ain't nothin but thang! Wiring is a whole new ball game though.
