Default NoBody's new bike

Hey everybody, I'm a total n00b. Not just to HT but to bikes in general.
I'll be getting my bike this week and can't wait until I get done with my MSF course in a couple weeks.
Getting a 92 CBR 600 F2 with just over 12,xxx miles. The bike is a little rough cosmetically but it's my first bike so I'm not too worried about it because I'm sure it's going to fall over a couple times anyway.

Has a D&D exhaust installed, the seller also has a stock exhaust from an 09 GSXR which he said since he doesn't need and is taking up space he will include it. The D&D sounds great but it is loud as hell IF my neighbors (who are a kinda old) complain about the noise would I be able to put the GSXR exhaust on in it's place.

I'll add pictures of the bike soon.

10/6/10
Not starting, need a battery but up on a trailor ready to come home

Nice man, get those pics up. Older 600's are perfect starter bikes. Good luck and ride safe.

prroooobably not, i doubt the headers will match up. you may be able to fit the gixxer whale **** can with some welding, but you'll have to cut the header from the can BEHIND THE BUTTERFLY because it comes from the factory as one piece. clamps are pointless in this situation because of evident leaks. but if you do that you'll have to keep cutting and welding if you decide to change the exhaust again, unless you can find another header somewhere.

you may be better of trying o source an old OEM unit off of craigslist or ebay.

get that MSF course under your belt and try and hook up with some other RESPONSIBLE riders in your area that have seat time under there belt.

I figured the GSXR exhaust wouldn't work out. But I love the sound of the D&D anyway so my neighbor are gonna have to get over it.
I'm not even going to be taking the bike out until after I'm done the course. Will have pictures tomorrow hopefully as long as the rain holds off so he can bring the bike down.

yeah... that's a nice starter bike.

one additional benefit that seems to be over looked by many people is that a modified exhaust makes you MORE visible to other drivers by making them search you out because of the noise. that's why the police USUALLY look the other way with modified exhausts... UNLESS you're riding like an idiot.

After I get a couple of falls in before the winter I'll probably be giving it a DIY paint job. And definitely gotta get some frame sliders orderedwith the next paycheck

Any good place to get parts for these (frame sliders, windscreen, possibly race/stunt cages)?
Want to start getting some sliders and what not before I start dropping it and doing some serious damage

lol... ^ maybe.

but seriously 1399, if you do go out in the rain, take special care. while it IS a skill set that I think every rider needs, it can be very dangerous.

Back when I got the basic skills down, I actually did some rides under the rain on purpose, to help me get the feeling.

Since I commuted a lot with my bike, I had to be one of those "all weather riders". It has paid off a lot. I still go slower in the rain, but still I feel much more comfortable in the wet than other riders. (Some would call me crazy).

I love to ride in the rain when I'm in the open road...but I HATE when rain pours on my commute...cagers go crazy when a couple drops fall down...specially lane sharing.

I wasn't the one riding it, the seller was and he didn't want to ride it through the rain. But I got it friday, now just waiting to finish my MSF course before I do any real riding.

So the battery is really low after it's been sitting at my dad's office since Friday, wouldn't start for me, it would crank and it got so close but no start, had to push it onto the trailor to get it home. In the manual it says to get the seat off I first have to take off the sides, really? sounds like a lot of hassle to jump a battery, also a pretty big design flaw

EDIT: here is a much better picture(still a cell phone pic though) but atleast it shows the real color
