I have an 88 CRX shell that I believe to be an HF. I already have it stripped out as much as the state laws will allow. Locally theres a guy with a 1990 Si for $400. Everything is good except the paint is crap and it has a fuel delivery problem.

I plan on using the whole motor and trans and all that out of it. I was wondering if there was anything else that would work off it? Rear disc brakes? Bumpers/fenders?

 

pretty much everything will swap. seat rails are different. If you swap the rear disc brakes don't forget the prop valve.

 

damn seat rails are different? Thats one thing I need. Just talked to the guy and said it doesnt have rear disc brakes, I though 90-91 Si's did? I'm going to check it out Friday so I'll have to see.

they should. I personally like the look of the 88-89 front bumper though.

The 88/89 fender are the same shape as the 90/91. The difference is the bumper trim on the 88/89 fender is fatter than the 90/91. They will swap over just fine.

Another difference is the corner lights, 88/89 have 2 screws that go though the light into the fender that hold it in place. The 90/91 corner lights have slots in fenders and 1 set screw in the headlight bucket.

So yes, the headlight buckets are different also between the years.
Besides the visual difference of the front bumper, the 88/89 bumper light are smaller...iirc and will only work perfect in the 88/89 bumpers..same goes for the 90/91.


SIDE NOTE:

HONDA did make that bastard year(late production) 89. I have owned about 9 of them. The late production 89's did come with door mounted seat belts.

These are just some front end differences and a little bit of honda history. Hope this clears things up for you.

 

ok i think i have on of those late productions cuz its a 89 it came with 90 91 style tail lights and the corner lights are 2 screw styl but the shape is different i tried 89 corner lights but they didnt work or did they sell me something different cuz they kind of loook like DA corner lights but the have 2 screews please help
