Default Buddy club Spec II on My ITR

just put on a buddy club spec II axle back on my ITR.
Sounds great as i still have the cat on it.
Vtec kicks hard and smooth in mid range.

Trust me, it's loud. I have it on my R. I keep the silencer most of the time, but if I feel that I want to shatter glass, I remove it.

It's somewhat loud from what I've been told. But it does cut the echoing/resonating sound that is caused by if driven without the silencer. I've never heard my car from the outside since I don't let anyone drive it.

BC Spec II not loud? Are you folks deaf?

The BC Spec II is the loudest aftermarket exhaust system made, period. And with the silencer in, all of your power above 5000rpms is gone. It also makes your car run pig rich with the silencer in.

Unless you drag race your car where db limits don't exist, I don't really see the point in it. Autox's have db limits and now even some tracks have db limits.

And you can't hit vtec on the street because everyone in a 1/4 mile area will know that you did so. What's the point in having an exhaust so loud that can't hear the song of the engine?

The Buddy Club Spec II is the loudest exhaust I have ever heard. Was in my buddy's ITR. If were driving next to eachother and he hit vtec, it would seriously hurt my ears. And if he put the silencer in it would kill all the power and run rich as hell.

I don't understand the point to this exhaust at all.

Because I want the best exhaust. And by "best" I mean the loudest.

I have the Spoon street muffler, I would love a Spoon Axle back but it's the cost of a complete buddy club Spec II.

I'm getting the Spec II

The reason the Spec II is so cheap is because it is just piping and a resonator. You do realize there is no "muffer" on the Spec II, right?

First time you take a trip longer than 10 miles without the silencer in, make sure to come back to this thread and tell us how much you love it. And if you have the silencer in, good luck keeping up with the lady in the Camry next to you at the stoplight.

And my guess...

People who run the Spec II on the street are all less than 23 years old. Because at 24 years old, impressing your friends with loud exhausts becomes less cool and actually being able to carry on a conversation while driving becomes something nice to do.

What's even funnier is that you could have a muffler shop do a resonator off the cat then a turndown before the rear axle. It'll make more power than way, be quieter and weigh less.

But it isn't BuddyClub, Y0!

Todd00, not being sarcastic or anything, but you made sense with everything you said.
A pal of mine has a DC5R with one and I literally had to block my ears when he flew by me on the highway. I criticized it ever since. But, it was the biggest power difference in his car.

I don't like noise but I sure would like a lil more power without touching the engine.
I'm doing 177whp right now.
Anybody got a dyno with that exhaust on a Stock Internal R?

Exhaust on a Type R will give you some power, but we're only talking about 3-5hp with typical bolt-ons and a good 2.5" collector header and cat. Honestly, the largest bottle neck in the ITR exhaust system is the OEM and OEM cat. Replace both of those with a (header with) 2.5" collector with high-flo cat and that's where you will find the power from the exhaust.

Otherwise, any N1 system will give you as much power as the Spec II. And a good chambered system will only set you back about 2-3hp up at the very top of the powerband. But, you can actually listen to the radio in the car.

Buddy Club Spec III is a good exhaust (and just as light as the Spec II). Buddy Club Spec II is merely a ricer's wet dream.

i couldnt even begin to imagine a buddy club spec II. I had the Spec III on my ITR and i drove it to Tennessee (477 miles one way from Pittsburgh) and all around in TN including the tail of the dragon several times, then back and i havent been able to hear correctly since. If anyone ever asks how many miles it takes to experience permanent hearing loss with buddy club Spec III exhaust, it's 1,759 miles in a week btw LOL
