ok so i took my whole interior out (including seat belts).. and painted the interior.. now im putting everything back in and they are stuck after retracting all the way in... anyway to fix this problem without going to dealship? cause they are going to see that i have taken them out already.. I have a 2000 ek hatch. Thanks

I had the same problem with my old DA. If they were working before you took the interior out i would think its a fuse or connection that didnt get plugged in upon reinstalation.

 

i forgot to mention my car.. its a 2000 ek hatch..
i was just wondering cause the front or back seat belts wont come back out.
I cant even install them cause it wont come out enough for me to bolt..

 

there is a little check ball that locks the belt you need to hit the retractor with ur hand to releas the lock it may take many time of tuging and hit but if you installed them at an agale the ball may not release

 

so you haven't in stalled them

 

no i havent installed the seat belts at all yet because i cant pull it out to reach the top to bolt it on. its still sitting on my table.. wondering what i should do.. cause i cant pull it out at all and i have no idea what ot do

 

the inertia switch is in the lock postion you need to move the seat belt around so that it all most at the installed angle to release the lock

 

you should be able to hear the little ball rattle around

 

some times you have to install it with 1 bolt so it at the right angle and frees up the other hand to pull on the belt

 

**** it who need's seat belts anyways???

Seriously though if you can get at the mechanism with a small screwdriver there should be a little pin/latch you can move to free them up
