is there lots of steps in installing aem's cai on a 97 civic ex cpe? or should i get a shop to do it for me?

 

Where is ctown IL??? Its very easy, DO NOT spend your money letting a shop install this part. Even if you have never picked up a wrench before it shouldn't take you longer than 2 hours. I will give you the steps that works with a 00 Si, should be about the same for your car.
1-Open the hood.
2-Using a regular screwdriver carefully remove the plastic retainers on the top of the bumper.
3-Remove the screw from the front of the wheel well (where bumper meets fender) will be one on each side.
4-Remove 2 10mm bolts from the bottom of the bumper.
5-Remove screws from bottom corners of bumper.
6-carefully remove the stock intake, start unhooking at the TB and work your way down. completly remove resonater box from in front of the wheel.
7-I'm not sure on a EX but if it goes thru the hole in the body then use some door edge guard to protect you CAI.
8-Install new CAI and filter, rehook all connections
9-Reinstall bumper
Done?

if you got the Air Bypass Valve, then it might be a little nerve-racking to cut ur $200 CAI in half, but overall I would most definately do it!
