Default Any use for adj. cam gears on a built ls/vtec w/ ITR cams?

Just a question. I have a LS/VTEC (B18, JDM B16 pistons, 01 ITR head, cams, valve train. Head was decked).

Anyways, is there any reason or need to use adjustable cam gears with stock ITR cams? Would they in any way help out?

Just a questions b/c there is a set locally dirt cheap for a nice pair.

Your head was milled so your cams are now slightly retarded. How much depends how much was milled off the head. If your gonna take the time to "reset" your cams to your crank, then yes, you would need them.

I vote yes. The cams will be slightle off with that block/head combo anyway. If i remember correctly its 2 degrees retarded on the exhaust cam and 2 degrees advanced on the intake to zero them out at tdc. Search for lsvtec timing being slightly off and you'll see what im talking about. Additionally, as long as you milled the head within spec, that alone would not cause any noticeable misalignment on the cam gears.

You sure you're not misaligned even the slightest? Check again. Its hard to tell but it is. Also what waterpump/belt are you using?

I've seen cam gears benefit a stock motor so I don't see why getting those adjustable gears and going to the dyno wouldn't help at all power wise.
