I have just taken delivery of a 2005 CR-V. I am required to have the Engine number verified by our Vehicle Inspection Department, but no one can find the number! Can any one tell me where to look?

 

idk but i would tell them to find it and if not to just inspect it. what are they gonna tell an old lady "find the engine no even if your old and broken" on my first gen crv it is halfway down the block in the front to the left of the header. im not sure where yours is. hope this helps

 

I tried to paste in a graphic, but can't. The engine serial number is by the starter. On the engine casting, near where the forward starter bolt is.
I hope that gets you closer.
