I'm not sure what is causing the squealing, but as soon as I turn my AC on and my car is running at low rpm's the car will squeal unless I am in 4th or 5th gear at higher rpm's. What I find wierd is that when I press the clutch in the squealing noise goes away, but if I release the clutch at a low RPM the squealing will continue. Also their is a wierd burn smell kinda like burning rubber or like a vacuum cleaner being burned out kinda smell for a few seconds and it goes away. Does anyone know what could cause this or what the problem is? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Get a new belt?

 

I just replaced the belt a month ago

 

does this happen only when the a/c is on? maybe your compressor is dying?

 

Yes it only happens when I turn the AC on if it is turned off the squealing sound doesn't happen.

 

Maybe your belt is loose?

That happened to me, all I had to do was tighten up the belt then it was all good.
