Got pulled over for having SI tail lights
I guess I didnt have the correct bulb color but Im using the OEM bulbs. Havent changed anything to the lights. Anyone know why I got pulled over or How to "fix" my lights?
Year, make and model of vehicle?
Pics of said tail lights?
Even *IF* you have a 92-95 Civic with those aftermarket tails that do away with the orange signal lens portion (and are white) I'd still take pics of the factory 99-00 Civic tails, and plenty of other OEM lights that are only red/clear as evidence.
I would strongly suggest using orange bulbs in the turn signal sockets though.

cops look for any reason to pull a honda over, just dont givem 1
It must have something to do with where you live also. My '99 EX coupe has the 'clear' (I think they look white really!) factory lenses, and the cops around my podunk town don't bug me. They're more worried about our loud stereos than anything. Meanwhile, f'n d-bags on Harley's go roarin' thru, but that's okay, their sound is 'patented'. Bunch of BS. Sorry, had to rant...
This is the easiest answer ever. Go to the back of the vehicle look on the tail lights look for DOT and then a number if its got one, no ticket if it doesn't open ya wallet its ticket time.
Cops don't care about the manufacturer of tail-lights. Just make sure your turn signal is orange.
End of story.
White turn signal is illegal in many states.

Manufacturer? The dot number is the approval of the lights to be street legal, it has nothing to do with manufacturers, simple if its dot approved its legal if its not its not. if the white turn signals are factory , like some Hyundai and other manufacturers have yes its legal some are led turn signals too legal all dot approved on that vehicle, department of transportation or dot governs automobiles here in the us
I was pulled for the same thing not to long ago.
I was told the needed to be amber.
The officer should have told you what you need to change to make it legal.

If you switched from the tail lights with the yellow lens, then you probably had clear bulbs and when u switched to the Si tail lights you didn't get amber bulbs with it thus your turn signals were white which is technically illegal.
So, doesn't matter that they weren't oem its the fact that their not amber colored

These are the only Si tails that came oem in red white, and yes, they need amber bulbs for the signals. Have white signal flashes is both gay and not legal

White or clear lenses is fine and legal. BUT... you have to use amber or red light bulbs in those assemblies unless it's a reverse light.
If you have '99-'00 coupe taillights on a '96-'98 coupe and are using the '96-'98 coupe taillight harness and bulbs then you have clear turn signals in the rear.
You need to do the following to be legal:
- Use '99-'00 coupe taillight harnesses.
- Get amber bulbs to replace the clear turn signal bulbs. In your local autoparts stores it'd be the same bulb number on the base of your local bulb, but with either an "A", "ALL" or "NA" at the end.
(A = Amber, ALL = Amber, Long Life, NA = Natural Amber. These change according to manufacturer.)
