well guys i just finish my swap (96 b18b1 in a 97 civic) and when i went to start the car up it starts,but then it losses power for sum reason...no matter how much i gas it,it jus stutters and wont go no where..

 

you probably have the tps and map sensor mixed up, switch em up reset the ecu and try it out

 

thats a good idea^^. also check your grounds. what ecu are you using? a p-75 im guessing

 

You also need to depin a wire and place it in a diff location on the ecu plug, well only if you car didn't come with a normal style intake manifold,

 

Did you changed the ECU??

 

ryte now im using an obd2 ls ecu that came with the motor...which i dont think it matters kuz arent obd2 civic non vtec ecu almost the same as obd2 ls ecu which are both p-75??also i tried running it with a obd2-obd1 harness n obd1 ecu but still actin the same..

 

civics never came with a p-75. only the Integra ls, rs came with a p75

 

try a different ecu. if that fails test the compression and start looking for vaccum leaks. take pictures or a video for us to show what it looks like and how it runs. there could be 20+ things causing this problem

 

oh ok im not sure but when i bought the car,it had the stock single cam but had a p-75 ecu...soo i figured.. i will take sum pix n vids wen i get home...thanx

 

did u check the map and tps? Do u have a check engine light on?

 

 

ok soo before i got to to solve this problem,no the car wont start at all...i went to start it today and it started up for a couple minutes until i gas it a lil it jus stutters and die and now it wont start back up..i tried switchn up the tps n map sensor and still wont start..

 

Does the starter crank the engine?
Spark?
Fuel pump primes?
CEL codes?

 

starter cranks,theres spark,fuel is there,i do go cel for O2 sensor but thats it
