Default How to remove INNER Tie rod?

Well my Drivers Side inner tie rod has some play. I already have the outer one off how do i get the inner one off? Do i need a special tool to pop if out or?

you can either get the special socket or you could use some channel locks or vise grips

So i assume you get the vise grips, clamp it at the end of the rod and pull or?

no it unscrews clamp on the joint and go to town. youll have to remove the belows first.

I just replaced the rear beam in a 89 crx and i had to pull the boot off the inner tie rod, chisel down a metal tab, and then put a wrench on the nut that i had just made accessible and it unscrewed like the outer tie rod. mind you i did this with the entire steering rack out of the car. i have no idea how to manage something like that with it still on the car. I can imagine it would bie a big pain in the *** if you were changing it with the steering rack still in the car. it might be different on integras though.

what are the 'belows' ?

yes thats excatly what they are. take that off and then you should be able to see the joint. if you try and turn the rod you wont get anyware. theyre made to turn thats how you adjust the tow. you have to get ahold on the joint itself

I thought you adjust the toe with the outer tie rod?...anyways i guess i'll get the special tool tomorrow. Always good to have tools
