CB7 Windscreen steamup ? Tricks, tips ?
Hi,
Everytime it rains my winscreen steams up like crazy.
Its useless blowing hot air onto it as it only gets worse. You see, over here summer's nealy over and we just had our first rains so the temperature hasn't really dropped that much yet.
So, when it rains, the only way that takes the steam away from the windscreen is to blow a/c cold air onto it.
It bothers me because then sometimes it gets a bit too cold for comfort, just like right now. It's nighttime and I just drove home with the a/c on all the way.
Otherwise I could't see a damn thing.
It is just me or do you also have this problem ?
Again, mine's a '92 EX.
Tips, tricks, products to rub on the screen ? Ideas ? ??

Use your defrost setting? Should be fairly self-explanatory...
Set your blower to defrost, then turn on your air conditioning and raise the temperature control. The evaporator is cold, condensing water out of the atmosphere, and draining it out the bottom of the car.
The air has now been de-humidified. It is now passed over the vehicles heater core, and becomes warm again. The heater core, at 180-210 F is plenty warm enough to heat up your air.
The de-humidified, warm air is now passed over the windshield, evaporating water that it condensed on it.
Basically, you are turning the evaporator into a De-humidifier for your car.

Also try cleaning your window with a piece of news paper and shaving foam. It will not get rid of the humidity but it will help keep it from condensing on your windshield. If the shaving foam doesn't work try a couple drops of dish detergent on news paper and rub it in, without water, until it goes clear.
