94 coupe w/B16
I recieved a call around 8 p.m. last night from a freind who wanted to show off the integra he got an "awesome" deal on. He doesnt really know his way around a car, so naturally when he told me it had a B16 i assumed he meant B18. He brought it by and sure enough the block was stamped B16. (I appologize for the lack of information, it was dark and the swap was horrible so i didnt catch which b16, just that it was usdm with a black VC.) I have no idea what possed the previous owner to put it in. My buddy thinks the engine was made in 2001, but unless im mistaken they stopped it in 2000, and i highly doubt its obd2. Being the fool i am i agreed to help him try to fix it. Ill check the block stamp and the trans later today, is there any thing on the head that would be a give-away as to what it is? Ill post pics later on because words dont do the engine justice, frankly im surprised it runs and drives. Its completely missing the abs actuator and the coolant overflow tank, and im guessing they didnt loop the ps lines when they removed the pump. Any tips on what to inspect would be great. Ill probably be rewiring/ pulling codes/ testing components all day. If any information is requested ill post it asap. Thanks for putting up with my long-winded post and any and all help recieved!
Do a compression test to it. Swap for new or OEM parts head gasket, timing belt, while your there, do the water pump, while your there, do the clutch, change your oil, matter of fact, do all your fluids.
