im considering getting a wheel/tire/boot/denver/lock whatever u wanna call it.... any thoughts / reccomendations / good or bad experiences with them?

also, is there a way to lock my hood (integra jdm front) without the pins on top? like a chain on the inside of the hood or something?

i too have thought about getting a boot, seems like a good idea though.
and as for locking your hood, bout the only thing i can suggest without any heavy modding is relocating your hood latch

if the boot doesnt cover the lugnuts its pointless.
and
I think u mean relocate the hood latch cable which isnt necessary if u car is moderately lowered.

i dont see the latch itself being the weakness
just use a hood pin & relocate your battery to the trunk

then make ur trunk impossible to open without using the alarm
(shave key hole & lock trunk latch or unhook it)
then use an actuator to pop it with the alarm

also u can use a piece of chain & a lock
so they can pop ur hood enough to trigger ur hood pin but not be able to open it

A chain and lock works very well, [very old school but effective].

We would find a spot on on the rad support with a hole or add a bracket with one that would correspond with a chain that was bolted to the hood, when hood was closed the chain, [number of chain links would depend on location] would drop through hole and a good padlock could be locked to the end of the chain, through grill.

As mentioned this would allow hood to open enough to trigger an alarm but not enough to gain access to engine bay.

Relocating the hood cable into engine bay from the fender is a must, way to easy to access otherwise, even on lowered cars.

What I have done is drill a hole through the latch mechanism so when a pin is inserted the latch can not open, I use another hood cable, [mounted in hidden location inside the car] to move the pin in and out of the latch.

I have also installed a hood pin on both sides of the hood so any attempt to "peel" the hood will trigger the alarm. 94
