94 honda lx - no power to injectors possibly due to vandalism
hi guys im new to use but i really need help. my cars a 94 honda lx. long story short, i had my water pump changed out. guy put it back together and now my car cranks all day but wont start. so i asked a mechanic to fix it and he asked for me to put on his remote start. so he fixed mine in a couple of hours and i couldnt finish his that same day. it was a friday so i couldnt get tech support til monday. anyways, that pist him off so he decided to go mess with my car in the middle of the night. so the next morning again the car will crank all day but wouldnt start. now he's opening his mouth tellin everyone that he can fix it in 5 seconds so it has to be something small. i have power to my spark plugs, brand new fuel pump and filter, its timed right cuz like i said he turned it on the night before. all fuses are fine, i just dont have power to my fuel injectors. today i had another honda next to mine and i traced every wire you can think of and all seems to be in place. can anyone please help me out? this car is my project car but i cant to anything to it without starting it. i have air bags in it and its engine driven by my a/c compressor so if i cant turn it on, i can lift up the car. any help, please email me asap or call me. thanks.
yes it primes. all fuses are good. not too sure what or where the main relay is at? im sorry, but im not a mechanic. also, if you have a diagram of both fuse boxes that would be great.
The Yel/Blk wire from the main relay supplies battery voltage to the fuel injectors via hood fuse 31. If you poke through the Yel/Blk wire insulation near the main relay plug with a multimeter/test light probe and it has voltage to body ground with the key in ON(II), then the Yel/Blk wire has been cut somewhere between that point and the fuel injectors.
u r talkin about the pgm-fi main relay right? that is the main relay right? u have a diagram of both fuse boxes?

sorry, last night was gettin late. anyways, i just checked my car, i pulled out both fuses and they were perfectly fine. i did notice that my main relay wasnt bolted down anymore, does that have anything to do with it? i also noticed some wires were bare but not cut. just taped. whats next?
Post very clear pictures of the main relay and the taped wires.
Does the Yel/Blk wire at the main relay plug have voltage? You'll solve this issue most quickly by doing some basic testing.

Are you 100% sure the fuel pump is priming?
You could always loosen the fuel line at the fuel filter, turn the key into the on position where all dash lights come on, and see if fuel comes out.
Also have you check the ground at the thermostat housing? That can make the car not start.
Also can you swap a DIFFERENT main relay in just to make sure he didn't swap a bad one into your car?

yes fuel pump is priming. i dont have a thermostat but the ground to it is still there. in this town, there is only like 5 hondas and no junk yards so it will be difficult to get a main relay. also, i put the key to the on position(before it starts cranking) and i did have power to the yellow/black wire (more yellow than black right?) RonJ@HT, can i get ur number so i can send these pics? they are on my iphone and i dont have a way to upload them right now. thnx
Your test result rules out a bad main relay and tells you that the Yel/Blk wire has been cut or is broken somewhere between where you detected voltage and the fuel injector clips. Trace the Yel/Blk wire from your test point through the firewall and engine bay to the fuel injectors. Test for voltage along the way. This is how to pinpoint the cut/break in the wire.
i thought that the yellow/black wires at each injector are ground? so what are the yellow, red, brown, and light blue wires at each injector? also right after the firewall where the plug comes out there is a dead harness connected to nothing right? full of yellow/black wires. out of all those wires, only one has power. just throwing that in there see if anything helps. ill trace all the wires right now and see what i get.
The block off in the plug connects the wires together, there should be power coming from all of them.
well out of all those yellow and black wires on that plug that isnt connected to anything, only one has power. the rest dont do anything at all.
help me out here, dont know how to post pics. give me ur numbers and ill send a pic from my iphone. trust me its crystal clear. or give me yalls email address. i appreciate this guys. the plug that im talking about isnt connected to anything. out of all the yellow/black wires on that plug only one has power which is the main one that comes from the relay.
i just gave my 4 injectors direct power from the main relay wire and it turned on. i really dont want to run it rigged like that so what can it be? idles like crap too.
